Overview
PrivyPrep ("the Extension") helps students study more efficiently by identifying missed questions on official SAT practice tests, generating targeted practice problems, and offering enhanced features for paid users.
Information We Collect
- Account Information: When you sign in via Firebase Authentication, we receive basic account data (such as email and Firebase user ID). We do not collect additional profile information unless you choose to provide it.
- User Content: We store questions you generate, your practice history, and AI chat messages to power the Extension's functionality and improve your user experience.
- Subscription & Payments: Payments are processed through Stripe. We do not store your full payment information. Stripe may collect billing details necessary to process your payment, and these are handled under Stripe’s own privacy policy.
Information We Do Not Collect
- Government IDs, sensitive personal attributes, or protected-category data
- Personal communications outside the Extension
- Browsing history, keystrokes, or activity outside supported practice test pages
- Full credit card numbers or payment credentials (handled by Stripe)
Information We Access
The Extension temporarily analyzes content on official practice test pages you have open, such as highlighting missed questions, to generate additional practice. This analysis:
- Occurs locally in your browser
- Is not stored or transmitted unless required to fetch new practice questions
Use of Storage
We use your browser's local storage and our secure database to store:
- Your practice progress
- Your AI-generated questions and messages
- Your subscription status
This data is not shared with third parties for advertising or analytics.
Permissions Explanation
- activeTab & host permissions: Allow the Extension to detect missed questions and enhance practice test pages.
- scripting: Injects "Generate More Questions" functionality into test pages.
- storage: Saves your practice progress and local settings.
- remote code: Securely fetches new practice questions and provides subscription features.
Third-Party Services
We rely on the following third-party providers:
- Firebase: Provides authentication and secure backend storage.
- Stripe: Manages payments and subscription billing. PrivyPrep does not store your payment details.
We do not sell user data or use advertising trackers.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure authentication handling.
Data Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.
